Environmentally Friendly Pulpboard: The spruce pulpboard that is used to make coasterboard comes from a sustainably managed forest in Europe. For every tree that is cut down, another tree is planted. Super absorbent pulpboard is the only material that will soak up liquids, dry overnight, and be ready to use again the next day. We also use vegetable based ink which contains less VOC’s than solvent ink.

These high-quality custom square coasters are composed of heavyweight cardboard pulpboard paper and are approximately 1mm, 1.5mm or 2mm thick. They are disposable, recyclable, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly. These disposable personalized square paper coasters are substantially more durable as they are conventional light-weight, medium-weight, and heavy-weight thickness coasters.

How thick is 60pt material? 60pt material is approximately 1.4mm thick, similar to a penny. 60pt pulpboard is the industry standard for bars and restaurants because it is mostly rigid.
What is pulpboard? Pulpboard is the industry standard material for custom drink coasters. There is no other option and here’s why; the spruce pulp that is made into coasterboard comes from sustainable forests in Germany. For every tree that is cut down, another tree is planted. In addition to having an environmentally sustainable resource, we know that spruce pulpboard is the most absorbent. Bartenders do not like wet bartops, neither do bargoers. Napkins, paper prints, cardboard, and other materials fall apart when wet, and do not absorb an effective amount of moisture. Pulpboard is the only material that will soak up liquids, dry overnight, and look like nothing happened the next day. You can normally get a handful of uses out of each coaster.
Do you offer color matching? No. We are able to satisfy 95% of color match requests, but due to the difficulty of perfectly matching a color with CMYK process, we cannot guarantee it.
Why is shipping so expensive? Bulk coaster shipments are heavy. For example, an order of 5,000 80pt coasters would ship in two boxes weighing nearly 50lbs each.

We have an event coming up, can we get custom bar coasters on time? Normal production for a coaster order is approximately three weeks, plus transit. Rush orders are currently available on 4″ round or square, 60pt medium weight only. There is a 20% upcharge on the print cost only, and rush orders can be placed by email only. Sales@bigmediaprinting.com.
How many versions can we have for our personalized coaster order? You may use a design for the front, a different design for the back, but every coaster must be identical per order. If you have two creatives, you would need to place two orders.

Are there additional costs or fees with ordering coasters? We only charge for printing and shipping; there are no setup fees or design fees. Sales tax would apply if you are located in Minnesota.
